I’m a Bettin Man

So I lost a bet yesterday. I was having a discussion about AJAX with a friend, he seemed to think that in IE6 you can make an XMLHTTPRequest from one domain to another, I was certain that you could not. I knew 100% that Firefox wouldn’t allow you to do it, and I was fairly sure that IE6 was the same. Apparently I’m wrong. He wrote a quick XHR script and sure enough, was able to grab text on a remote domain. So now I owe him a beer next Tuesday.

I’m going to look into IE7, see if it’s possible, just for curiosity sake. I think I’ll check a bunch of browsers to see which can do it and which can’t. I’m willing to bet only IE6 can do it. Anyone want to take me up on that?
