Lack of Updates
I know I know, I must be the worst blogger out there. I mean, what kind of blogger updates their site once a month at best? I guess my kind.
So I’m super excited for Monday, being August 7th, Steve Jobs keynote at the WWDC. I just can’t wait to see what other gadgets I want badly but can’t afford. Isn’t that always fun! My little 6GB iPod Mini is slowly biting the dust, I know it. Her battery life is cut to probably 12 hours (used to get 16 or more, 2 full shifts at work), but seeing as that’s the only thing that’s wrong I guess I should be happy. Still, I’d like to sell her and get the new one that I’m sure is coming soon enough, and I’d like to be able to sell her while she is still working.
Then there’s the iPhone rumors. My little Telus LG phone is really annoying me lately as it constantly complains that it wants more battery. Really, if anyone can make a good cell phone, it’s Apple, and I’m not saying that as an Apple fan boy, they just have an amazing design team and a good strong foot planted in the consumer electronics department.
That said, I think what I’m looking forward to most is Leopard. From some of the early leaked information, we are looking at 15-40% performance increases with this new version of Apples OS. That would be a huge increase for my little 1.2GHz G4 iBook (which is badly in need of RAM might I add). As well, all the Multi-Processor enhancements seem phenomenal! Again, it’s all early leaked speculations, but I’ve read some damn fine articles explaining how Apple and Intel have worked to allow all the cores to be utilized to their full potential (whether that be for the best performance or the best power saving). It’s going to be great, hopefully I’ll have money for a MacBook Pro soon enough, I think I’d wait for the first product refreshment after Leopard is released, just to be sure it has everything in it to take full advantage of the new OS. (My iBook sure didn’t have enough RAM to run Tiger, and Apple refreshed the line about 4 weeks later, with more RAM)
I think I’m scrapping building a new site from the ground up. It takes way too much time, and I always find other projects to work on and put my site on the back burner. I really want to get rid of this horrible site and get something respectable up soon, so I’ve decided to venture into the world of Wordpress. Expect something sooner (maybe later).
I just updated Mark Cohen’s link as he changed his URL a few months ago. Sorry it took so long Mark!
