RIP XP

Monday, December 13th, 2004

Well, it seems the AMD Athlon XP line of processors are finally gone. While they will still be in stock for the next few months, these last 3 weeks of 2004 will also be the last 3 weeks of the Athlon XP. This little processor, to be replaced by the Socket A/754 Sempron processors, will always hold a spot in my heart as my first real overclocking experience, my first home built machine, and the one I kept breaking things with!

Athlon XP, you will be missed. Sempron, you have some big shoes to fill, but I have no doubt in my mind that you will do it to the best of your abilities.

iTunes Music Store

Friday, December 3rd, 2004

Well, while it did not make its original November launch date, I would say that December 1/2 is acceptable for Apple to launch the iTunes Music Store in Canada!

Canadians (myself included) can now purchase songs off the iTunes Music Store for a low $0.99 each, matching the american price and thus actually cheaper (from an american perspective). With a collection of well over 700,000 songs, Im sure Canadians will be enjoying their new tunes once the news spreads.

Download your own copy of iTunes here and start grabbin’ those tunes!
