Well a few weeks ago Pepsi started this promotion with Apple where they give away one 20GB iPod every hour untill Christmas. In the end its like 2000 - or some retarded number like - iPods that they are giving away. All you have to do is buy a Pepsi product, rip off the wrapper, and enter the PIN (found on the back of the wrapper) into the website. So due to my obession with wanting an iPod, I started drinking Pepsi hardcore (this coming from someone who quit drinking pop) in order to win an iPod. I figured that since the promotion is only in Canada, I would have a good shot. So I’ve been entering these PINs like mad, and still haven’t won anything.

But to say the least, as soon as I heard about this promotion, I figured Apple must be bringing the iTunes music store to Canada finally. Sure enough, I get home from work today and I find out that to compliment the release of the store in 9 new EU countrys, as well as the new iPod Photo and U2-flavoured iPod, they are indeed planning for a November launch of the iTunes Canadian music store. It has taken this long because in Canada we can legally download music off Kazaa and other file sharing programs (but we cannot legally upload it, and thus I do not!). So it is because of this that Apple must have figured they would not be able to convince us to pay for downloaded music that is otherwise free (and legal). Thats just my own thoughts. More of my thoughts are that, if Im remembering correctly, the bill that allows us to download legally will be up for renewal in the coming year. Apple must figure that there will be plenty of pressure for the country to go the American way of illegal downloads, turning many to a legal alternative. With Napster all ready in Canada, Apple would be foolish to let that market go solely to its competitor.

Thats about all that deserves a spot on my site. As you can tell, I did some much needed ravamping to the interface. Im working on that user login, right now it’s working great, but logout is borked, and I still have to test the hell outa the login script. I did that all in about 4 hours at work today (starting from scratch because I accidentally deleted all the work I did in the past).

Well I’ve been really busy with work, so I haven’t done a whole lot lately, but when I get a chance, I try to fix stuff.

Im going to add a quotes section. It will be primarily quotes from my friends. This idea came up the other night when I was talking about Diskerprise, and my buddy said “I’ll show you a 5 inch floppy!”. Yeah that was funny. So Ill work on that this week.

The login form on the right is now enabled, but it still doesn’t completely work. Im getting to that too. Its all coming along slowly.

I was able to grab a free .info domain, so if you hate popups, you can use jessedyck.info untill I buy a .com/.ca.

Thats all for now. Ill eventually get back to updating with usefull tech stuff.
