There’s My GMail!

Monday, June 14th, 2004

So I was sitting around last night hunting for a GMail account like usual, and I decided to try gmailswap.com.I posted my own plea, and then I was looking at some of the other pleas, and one was offereing a few accounts for sale, but in order to prove it wasnt a scam, he offered a free account as well. Luckily I seen this, grabed the link, and filled out that form incredibly fast. Ta Da! My own GMail account! That topped off the weekend for me, what a great weekend.

My new GMail address is dyck15 [at] gmail [dot] com - dont spam me please…

Where Is GMail When You Need It!

Saturday, June 5th, 2004

Im sure everyone knows about Gmail by now. It’s that controversial new email service offering 1GB of free storage! I cannot understand how they can afford it, and due to its announcement on April 1, I figured it was an April fool’s joke. Well I would say it’s not now, and to say the least, it has brought up big privacy issues. The main reason is that they have implemented a bot which scans your incoming emails and generates ads from its other service, AdWords.

Who care!

Not me! I don’t want to bother saying much more about that issue; I want 1GB of free email storage, I want to search through all those Gamespy newsletters that I have jamming up my 2MB hotmail account, I want something that’s not run by Microsoft! So I have been hunting ever since it has been in beta for a free invitation, all to no avail. I am not about to pay $80 on eBay for one, not likely, I did bid on few in their early stages, pre-$10, but anything more, not a chance.

That is the just of it. If anyone wants to give me an invitation, email me using the email above. Include a meaningful subject though, or it will just go out with the trash.
