Almost Like a Push Broom.

I have been awaiting Windows XP Service Pack 2 for a while now. Hell, I am already using Service Pack 2 Release Candidate 1, its a very stable beta version (oddly enough), and the new features are good. There are a few things that make me wonder what Microsoft was thinking, such as the firewall not blocking a program which is outbound for the first time. But that’s besides the point. I was hoping they would address these issues with their second release candidate, schedualed for public beta today. Well, I checked Neowin today for a download link (M$s site is impossible to navigate IMO). What a surprise, it is pushed back a week! I am getting fed up with this industry. If you cannot make a release date, why set it? Set the date later then expected, and then announce the product early! That would make you, and your engineers, look amazing! Everyone knows what I am talking about (Half Life 2 anyone?).

If you feel the need to try out RC1, the download link is below. Remember that it is beta, and is not recommended for mission-critical tasks (even though it is stable and provides great security updates).

On a side note, if anyone actually saw this site before today, you will have noticed the design change. I just had some time and wanted something more basic. I will make a fancy site for myself in the near future.
